Who are we?

Fondazione Politecnico di Milano was founded in 2003 through a joint effort between the Politecnico di Milano, major city and regional institutions and important corporations to support the university’s research projects and contribute to innovating and developing the economic, productive and administrative environment. Fondazione Politecnico is committed to building a more effective relationship between the university, industry and public administrations.

Digital Learning and Collaboration Area – this strategic unit is aimed at creating new links and opportunities for the development of eLearning and gamification programmes. The ability of this area is to use and integrate different technologies and ICT tools with innovative methodologies to facilitate transfer of knowledge, information sharing, distance e-learning programs and e-collaboration practices. Its staff has a long experience in national and international projects that allowed acquiring strong competences on innovative learning methodologies. Moreover, the team has acquired strong skills in project management methodologies based on e-collaborative approach, that has shown to improve the level of sharing and accountability among partnership.

Why we are participating in the project

Fondazione Politecnico di Milano has, among its roles, the one of exploring the possibilities offered by the most innovatives approaches in education, as micro-credentials and blockchain-based methodologies are. FPM wishes to explore the boundaries of certificates and find new ways of building bridges between high education and labour market.

Our role in the project

Fondazione Politecnico is involved in the main analysis research, exploring the modelling of Micro-Credentials in Europe, with a special focus on the Italian situation. FPM will also co-lead the work package aimed at creating a Recognition-Framework for Micro-Credentials.

Matteo Uggeri

Matteo Uggeri

eLearning Expert and Project Manager

Graduated in Industrial Design, specialising in visual and multimedia communication at Politecnico di Milano in July 1999. Matteo collaborates with Politecnico di Milano since 2000, getting to Fondazione Politecnico in 2012, where he’s now employed in the Digital Learning and Collaboration Area. Actually he describes himself as a gamification & eLearning Expert, Trainer, Designer and Musician.

Stefano Menon

Stefano Menon

eLearning Expert and Project Manager

Graduated in 2000 in Psychology, Stefano has worked at Politecnico di Milano from 2001; now, since 2012, he’s involved in the Digital Learning and Collaboration unit in Fondazione Politecnico. Mainly interested in adult education, he has managed many projects, with different roles, from instructional designer to evaluator of efficacy and efficiency of innovative training models. In the last years he has explored innovative learning solutions based on Web 2.0 applications and e-collaboration approach, applied in several projects.
